Marklund returns to The Pond
WELLAND - Niagara's Greatest Show, the Welland Jackfish, announced today that they have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher, Brandon Marklund for the upcoming 2025 season.
Marklund returns to the Rose City for his second season after joining the Fish on June 9th, 2024. The Port Coquitlam, British Columbia native was lights out in the postseason, recording a perfect 0.00 ERA with 15 strikeouts and only 3 walks over 8.1 innings of relief.
Before joining the Jackfish, Marklund spent time with the Capitales de Québec of the Frontier League. The former Kansas City Royals prospect suited up for the club's Single-A team in Lexington in 2019 posting a 0.46 ERA with 44 strikeouts and 19 walks over 39.1 innings of work. After the season, he played for the Canada national baseball team in the 2019 WBSC Premier12.
